Prayer for the Week September 9 – Love Came Down

On this Monday as we approach, Yom Kippur – The Day of Atonement, I’m reminded of all that Christ did for us when He chose to come and walk among us.  He arrived in this world as a baby just as you and I did.  He walked through life and modeled for us the very life we are to have in Him, giving us the way to deal with every situation that comes to us in this world.  Then He died for us, permanently providing our atonement.

“…for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” (Romans 2:23-24)

He didn’t have to do it.  He chose to do it, that His blood shed on Calvary would cover our sin and He would enter heaven to appear before the Father on behalf of His people.  Jesus’ blood providing for the eternal redemption of His people.

Thank you, Jesus!

Sometimes we just need to go back and remember the Father’s love for us.  Mondays in all their overwhelming glory seem like the best time to pause and remember.  To think about how God sees us as His people, His Church and simultaneously as individuals beautifully and wonderfully created.

“God loves each of us as if there were only one of us.”  ~St. Augustine

May you be overwhelmed by His love for you today.  Wrapped in His arms, secure in His presence.
