Kristina’s September Meal Plan

September 7, 2012

“The breezes taste
Of apple peel.
The air is full
Of smells to feel-
Ripe fruit, old footballs,
Burning brush,
New books, erasers,
Chalk, and such.
The bee, his hive,
Well-honeyed hum,
And Mother cuts
Chrysanthemums.
Like plates washed clean
With suds, the days
Are polished with
A morning haze.”

~John Updike, September

We’re back in school and swim practice here, so my days are busy!  For this month I’ve tried to choose dishes that are easy because they cook in the slow-cooker while I’m running around, I can whip them up in less than 30 minutes, or I can have them prepped for Jordan to throw on the grill for me.

One confession, I opted out of one of my planned Shabbat meals last month so it’s planned again for this month.  Other than that, I continue to plan on doubling my meals twice per week so that my freezer stores continue to grow and grow.
